The APE Conferences aim at a better understanding of scholarly communication and the role of information in science, education and society. They encourage the debate about the future of value-added scientific publishing, information dissemination and access to scientific results and offer an independent forum for 'open minds'. Participants have enjoyed this very open atmosphere in the Academy of Sciences and Humanities at the famous Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin Mitte since the beginnings in 2006.
Participants to the APE2022 edition will be able to experience the conference at this prestigious location, sitting together once again in the Leibniz Hall.
The logistics for the Academic Publishing in Europe Conference is provided starting 2021 by the Berlin Institute for Scholarly Publishing (BISP), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing publishers, researchers, funders and policymakers together.
International & Independent for all Stakeholders in Scholarly Communications and Scientific Publishing:
Participants are: academic, educational, scientific, technological, medical, legal publishers, university presses, funders, researchers, authors, editors, librarians, teachers, learned and professional societies and associations, funding agencies, politicians and policy makers, subscription agencies and booksellers, recruiting agencies and technology providers.
